Suppose it’s the first leg and you want to secure other legs. I only want the flight on that day if I can get the other legs. And maybe I’m very busy the first 24 hours.

Or you want to travel with others who are booking separately.


After 24 hours, it’s a flight credit, which is only useful if you will fly that airline another time in a year. (If award, true, free cancellation).
