Agreed. It reminds me of when people say that an accused person got off on a technicality. What really happened, of course, is that the accused person got off because the law said that s/he should get off. The law, and the fare rules, aren't technicalities, they're the rules by which we participate in society, or buy airline tickets. It's not gaming to take advantage of the laws/rules as they're written.
