I was hoping this is some kind of lounge expansion, or an arrivals lounge, or another amenity for TK frequent fliers, as I thought the cabana-style structures had some similarities to the design language of the lounges. Last year I asked several lounge staff and none of them knew what was going on, and one expressed amused exasperated skepticism when I asked if it could be something TK lounge related.
The photo from a few weeks ago shows some progress and a few individuals actively working (which was the source of the loud construction noise at the lounge) with additional potential cabana-style structures having gone up, although they could also just be the skeleton for something else entirely different as these are clearly the bare frames.
I will say the amount of visible progress with this construction is not super impressive for nearly a full year of work, but very curious to learn what TK (or the airport) has invested in.

Thanks, great inside.
let’s be curious, before Covid TK also unveiled plans for a Elite Plus Lounge in the centre of both actual once, but was never started. Honestly, I think could be randomly anything, but would be great to have some extended space.
both actual TK lounges are under renovation right now, “garden” seating areas are entirely closed on both.
just arrived today again at 6am, super packed and now at 9am, not even 50%. Usual flow with flight schedules, where a lounge occupancy is surely nothing they consider in such.
EDIT: Progress as of today. Similar contractions are also ongoing opposite of MS Lounge, but not really to know what this should going to be.
