Cancelled 4 award tickets (mix BA/AA itinerary) a couple weeks ago. All the miles returned immediately but only 3 of the tickets refunded the taxes/cash portion. Submitted a request to refunds but heard nothing.

Reached out to customer relations on Friday asking if they could send a chaser to refunds on it. Received their response today -- said they forwarded the request to the Refunds team for further review and that they would respond directly to me; in the meantime I could check status on the refunds site. Thought I would be back to waiting and wondering but then 4 minutes later received an email that the refund on the final ticket had been processed.

So perhaps customer relations as a follow-up path for next time.
