When UA started taking delivery of its Dreamliners, maybe ten plus years ago, B789s would start appearing on LAX/SFO. I once booked a narrow-body flight, which magically transformed into a B789. I don’t recall any sort of announcements. I just assumed this change occurred to familiarize crews.

I don’t expect any announcements.
