Just in terms of how long disruption to air travel is likely to last and how well the war (not a war) is going: today (Sunday 8th March) saw the highest number of missiles fired at the UAE (17) since 2nd March although 16 were succesfully intercepted. 117 drones were sent to attack the UAE, similar to most days now which is around 120. Dubai has been having relatively frequent phone alerts to take shelter (2 - 3x per day) although it would appear that they are tending to be city-wide now and not as localised as they were initially - I don't know if that represents some additional uncertainty in calculating the trajectories of incoming armaments. A taxi driver was killed in Dubai yesterday after his vehicle was hit by debris from an interception. This is the only death in Dubai that I am aware of although there have been others elsewhere in the UAE.
The UK will arrange a (paid ticket) re-patriation flight for vulnerable travellers out of DXB early next week.
BA have cancelled all of their flights LHR-DXB up to (and including) the early departure (BA107) on Friday 13th March. I believe that at some point this week they will also cancel the rest of their flights to the region for all of March.
QR is operating a limited number of re-patriation flights out of DOH this week to:
9th March: Seoul (ICN), Moscow (SVO), London Heathrow (LHR), Delhi (DEL), Madrid (MAD), Islamabad (ISB), Beijing (PKX), Perth (PER), Nairobi (NBO), Istanbul (IST).
10th March: Cairo (CAI), London Heathrow (LHR), Jeddah (JED), Manila (MNL), Kochi (COK), Muscat (MCT), Istanbul (IST), Mumbai (BOM), Delhi (DEL), Nairobi (NBO), Islamabad (ISB), Madrid (MAD), Frankfurt (FRA), Colombo (CMB), Milan (MXP).
VS has cancelled all scheduled flights to DXB until at least 31st March.
EK and FZ (and some others) seem to be operating a large number of scheduled flights in and out of DXB with relatively frequent holds on arrivals caused by temporary airspace closure. UAE fighter jets and helicopters are actively escorting these flights and intercepting drones when required. As yet there are no reported incidents involving civilian aircraft. The arrival runway continues to be 30L and the departure runway 30R with a tight turn and rapid climb departure procedure. DXB has stopped publishing its METAR data on well-known channels, presumably for OpSec.
