Also there are no power outlets within 10 feet of where I'm sitting, and my laptop just ran out of juice.

Edit: Moved to a cafeteria table with outlets. They were not working. Two people already at the table said we had to use the outlets on the floor.

So I got down on my knees and did what any good engineer would do. I unplugged the table and plugged it back in again. Immediately I heard a few "oh whatever you did it works!"

So power has been restored to my laptop.
