I looked into it a few times, but it's always been about the same price to book business class to Europe from South-East Asia on Qatar Airways than it is to book premium economy in BA and then upgrade to business using the GUF. Certainly the case from Singapore. As far as I can tell, there's very little value to be had if you're starting your journey in Asia. Obviously things might be brighter if you're starting your travels in the UK or Europe.
