Back in the day I’d often make a push to get 2500 TPs to earn a GUF2 as I felt there was sufficient value to make it worthwhile. However, even towards the end of the BAEC, the additional YQ required when redeeming on ex-US upgrades to Club really negated any real value.

My last two or three upgrade vouchers were used to upgrade Avios redemptions from Y to W and I even used a couple on one-way ET to CE upgrades.

When you look at the additional spend now required to earn a GUF2 plus the additional YQ when redeeming and understand that all you’re saving is the base fare difference between the original and upgraded cabin then I struggle to see any real value nowadays.
