If I look at the discussion on FT for the three airlines, it seems clear that Emirates has handled the situation the best vis a vis a customers. They were way out in front of allowing re-bookings on other carriers.
By comparison, Etihad and Qatar seem to be in a race to the bottom.
This is not new at all, whilst still not on par with some Asian / Western airlines for IRROPS handling, it’s long been the case that EK >>>>>> EY/QR when facing any disruption. It’s why even if I liked the EY A380 F seat a lot (which I don’t, I find it poorly designed), I’d still keep choosing EK. EY has to discount connecting F and J heavily to attract enough customers despite the impressive hard product for a reason.
