Had the worst experience with Qatar call centre yesterday. Front line agent told me "I wasn't giving her many options" if I didn't want her to find me availability through the middle east today (6th) or tomorrow. I explained that the air space was closed and so we couldn't fly through the middle east to which she replied "how do you know it won't open up tomorrow?" (6th). Spoiler alert: it didn't. Following policy she could only search 2 days out for other carriers and so I asked to be transferred to a senior agent. We were on hold for about an hour and a half to the senior agent during which time she kept insisting I should take a refund or that she would call me back. I doubt very much that she was even on hold to a senior agent - it all felt like a sham to be honest. After 4 hours, exhausted I accepted the call back which I knew wouldn't come and of course, which hasn't come. Just wanting to vent really and share my experience - this is all so exhausting. I'm currently in Perth and me and hubby both have permanent residency so our situation isn't as tenuous as that of some other folks. The plan has always been to eventually move out to Australia but with flights back being insanely expensive to book ourselves, and Qatar refusing to reroute us, maybe we live here now.
