Just under a month to go, Avios household balance more or less rinsed along with all GUFs and Jokers. We cast all our remaining spells to enable a couple of long haul trips with friends in F later this year and early next, and the remainder to and from BCN when cash fares are eye-wateringly expensive over the summer.

Chasing any sort of status, even silver, when the majority of our paid-for points-earning flights are to BCN and back doesn't really make sense any more (£500 return for row 1 with BA, £65 for row 1 with Easyjet...) so we shall be gifting each other gold on March 31, enjoying another year of First wing security and then seeing where we end up in 2027, meanwhile spending some of the savings on cash fares for our long haul trips, on whatever airline suits best (which, realistically will probably still be BA for a fair chunk of the travel, given where we live and the credit cards etc. available to us)

It's been fun though...

As an aside I overheard in the CCR from one of the staff and a forum regular that they will be putting on extra staff on April 30th to deal with the expected demand, that one-way to MAN is looking tempting!
