In practice, most of my clients fall into one of two camps.
Some want help organising a trip more broadly – choosing hotels, shaping the structure, thinking through experiences and touring.
Others, and many of these are repeat clients, already know roughly what they want and mainly book hotels through me via preferred partner programmes, but still value the advice, the curation and having someone who has a preferential relationship with the hotels.
If someone enjoys doing everything themselves, wants to optimise purely for the lowest public rate, and is happy managing issues directly, they may not feel much incremental value in using an advisor.
