New AA promo in app: “Ready, set, jet toward status” (Promo code: LP326)

Just noticed a new targeted(?) promo showing in the AA app under Promotions: “Ready, set, jet toward status.” It’s offering up to 5,000 additional Loyalty Points for eligible flying in March/April, with registration required.

Key terms (from the in-app T&Cs):

  • Promo code: LP326
  • Register by: 11:59pm CT, April 30, 2026
  • Book window: Eligible flights must be booked between your registration date and April 30, 2026 (and you must register before creating the reservation / placing it on hold — anything ticketed before registration doesn’t count)
  • Fly by: Must complete flights by April 30, 2026
  • Cap: Up to 5,000 additional Loyalty Points total
  • Exclusions/eligibility: No Basic Economy; must be AA/AA Eagle marketed & operated (no codeshares); flights that don’t earn AAdvantage miles don’t count; bonus LP post within 14 days after the segment posts

Earning structure (this is where I’m a little confused):

  • T&Cs list 500 additional LP per segment.
  • Also list 1,000 additional LP per segment for:
    • segments booked by business travelers on CART (with CART info provided prior to departure), and/or
    • segments booked by business travelers in AAdvantage Business (account number provided prior to departure), and/or
    • segments departing/arriving select airports in Mexico & the Caribbean (there’s a “list of eligible airports” link on the promo page)

Example given in the T&Cs:

BOS–MIA–CUN one-way = 1,500 additional LP:

  • 500 for BOS–MIA
  • 1,000 for MIA–CUN

That example seems to imply the Mexico/Caribbean segment earns 1,000 total (not 500 + 1,000 = 1,500 for that segment), i.e. 500 OR 1,000 depending on the segment — but the bullet wording could also be read as stacking. 🤷🏻‍♂️
