To the extent phone calls are a problem, it's only during boarding and, maybe, taxiing . . . though an FA told me to hang up moments after the door closed (I was on a headset, but obviously my voice could be heard) . .. and to be clear this was one of few if any times I was on a call while on a plane.

Just an extension of boom boxes in public, and loud car stereos with the window open . . . too few people give a d@mn about others.
