Since there still have several months, the best way to cancel this reservation is call CS or contact hotel directly to seek a chance to cancel this reservation and waive the fine.
I see posts saying this, but I'm trying to figure out where it's coming from? I saw some reference to the provision in the WoH terms that they can charge you if you "do not follow the proper cancellation policy." But that only raises the question of what the "proper cancellation policy" is? I don't see anything in "NON-REFUNDABLE/100 PRCNT DEPOSIT AT BOOKING" that says that you can't
cancel (and that the act of cancelling would therefore violate the cancellation policy). To me, the best reading is that cancellations are non-
refundable, and you lose 100% of the deposit charged at booking.
Am I missing something here? It seems like if what they meant was that the reservation was not
cancellable (as opposed to not refundable), and they will charge a penalty, the cancellation policy should have said that much more clearly.
