Finally got through to an agent on the phone after selecting the 'new bookings' option rather than 'existing bookings'. Surprise surprise. Waiting time was around 30 mins - perhaps this may help others.
First agent transferred me to another team and after a short wait the second agent confirmed he would be requesting a full refund without any fees, charges or other deductions. 8-10 days before the money is back on my card. Have noted the agent's name, time of call and will be keeping the email received this morning saying I was eligible for a full refund.
