Was flying SIN-DOH yesterday, which was diverted to MCT. Kept on the tarmac for 6.5 hours before being released into Oman; QR put us up at a dingy hotel, but are completely unreachable regarding bags and other updates. Some people are getting text messages and emails, some are getting app notifications, some nothing. Oman is still operating flights to Saudi Arabia which I can get on, but my bag is trapped on the SIN plane and there's no way to get through to someone on what to do.
Received a notification from QR about the ability to cancel affected itineraries and receive a full refund, which is all well and good... but what happens to one's checked bag in that circumstance?
Such a mess, micro and macro.
