The hotel is always more expensive than the LHR Garden Inn (the one at Hatton Cross that's 5 minutes walk from the Tube station), but I've never paid anything near rack rate for the T2/3 one. It''s normally £150-220 ish. I'd normally go for the Hatton Cross one as it is usually just over £100, but if I have an early flight it's worth the extra to be able to walk to T2 or T3, or one stop over to T5.
It sure is. But I had points to burn, and I was hoping to do some plane spotting from the hotel. The view from my room was solid, but hotel banned long lens cameras from the terrace. Which was a bummer.

There is something that draws us to these sites..sometimes I think it is that if we see it we will understand more ..and we do but not enough of us to not constantly repeat battles. Did Normandy another time and nothing like it. Can't wait to hear about yiur time there.we learned about the overseas war cemeteries too. Which I believe that until Vietnam bodies were buried overseas and not returned home. Pattons grave was very moving. We came at dusk as the cemetery was closing and were the only ones there besides the gatekeeper who was in the mood to talk loved that you started with Arlington..perfect start!
Thanks, worldiswide. Waterloo is on my list as well, and I hope to make it there soon. And yes, those who don’t know history are certainly doomed to repeat it!

Thanks, LukeEDT! I’d like to make it to the World War I sites at some point as well.

Oh wow! This was my first time driving in Europe. Appreciate the heads up! Is it because of lower fuel tax?

Thanks for reading, Nimrod.!The check in agent didn’t mention anything, so I assumed there wasn’t a lounge. But good to note for the future.
