I have made 3 redemptions in the last 3 months for family members, all in Y on the YYZ-YUL corridor. I used my priority redemptions before they expired. Without the discount, AP was asking 15,000-40,000 each direction + $100 each RT. I did 3 redemptions for a total of of approx 62,000 + $300. Not a good value, but I would have lost the PRs by next month and I had points just sitting gathering dust. I really don't care about Aeroplan miles now since they are so devalued and the additional charges are just a cash grab. I got rid of my "premium" card sometime ago and stick with the basic no fee Aeroplan card. I don't redeem enough to use up the additional miles I earn each year anyway.
I got two rewards to Asia for later this year, one to TPE, via ICN and back via NRT, in J, for 210,000 and one to KIX in J for 217,000 points.
This is usng a PR of course, and booking as early in advance as I could. In the TPE case, nearly a year in advance.

Like many that have replied in the affirmative, for redemptions for family members. Obviously, gone are the IKK days where we were getting 150K RT in J for Asia, and 90K RT in J for EU. Nowadays, the SE PR's are needed to get the most out of rewards.

Would those prices be before or after using PR?
Obviously after. As to the comparison with IKK rates of yesteryear, to be fair, points have been devalued across the board and we end up getting many more than then. Especially from credit cards. Also, i find I nrmally get enough PRs for my need, as long as I don't use some unwisely.
