I was back here for 3 nights this past weekend after a couple of years away.
Breakfast in the club lounge wasn't as dire as the above reviews led me to think. I also knew that we would be going out for breakfast 2 of the 3 mornings, so this wasn't a huge swing factor either way. Friday breakfast was the best. They had a pot of scrambled eggs and a pot of brisket hash, a mix of steak, potatoes, and such - which was pretty good. I liked that they had the whole set of Yellowbird hot sauces, which was unexpected, but these sauces are great and local(ish). Sunday, they only had the scrambled eggs with no add ons. That being said, the Hyatt Regency's buffet crushes this, no questions asked. I'd also probably still take the HR's a la carte menu over the lounge breakfast. But the lounge breakfast wasn't as bad as I expected.
The resort fee, which I didn't pay since it was an award stay, includes 2 welcome drinks, which is a rather tasty on tap margarita. It also includes a $15 credit to Moda Fare, the lobby restaurant valid during lunch and dinner. I used it once, our first night after coming back from happy hour, and the lounge food being what it was, I ordered a margarita pizza for $18 and asked the bartender to box it for take out and we ate it in the room watching TV. Pizza was pretty good. Not $18 good, but for $3+tax it hit the spot!
The lounge happy hour was a bright spot - from 5 to 7pm truly free wine and beer. I thought this had more/less gone the way of the dodo bird for US lounges. They also had a respectable selection of beers, including Karbach Hopadillo, Blue Moon, Dos Equis, etc. For wine, they had a selection of Canvas wines. They also had liquor in a cabinet but that had an honor bar slip, think it was $7. But then again I didn't see anybody go there.
