This really bothers me. The seat pitch in Y on the Rouge A320s (vs, say, the 737 MAXes) crosses the line between what I am and am not willing to tolerate. The end of my knee extends out 28.5" from my backside when I am seated. I need to allow at least 1" for the hinge of a slimline seat, more for traditional airline seats. If the pitch is anything less than 30" then I won't fit. I can't always fly in J. For this configuration, there are so few extra legroom seats that they are often unavailable for purchase. If Rouge A320s are basically going to be moved over to the mainline fleet then I need to rethink my flying habits.
Yes, I know AC has been swapping Rouge aircraft into the mainline fleet for the last several years, but I've always managed to avoid those planes. Now, it seems like avoiding a Rouge-like seat pitch is going to get harder. Maybe it will become the new standard for mainline.
I will probably end up flying the racoon a lot more often. It shouldn't make any difference to my status since domestic flights in Y earn so little.
