I was flying frequently in AF First in the 80s and 90s. In particular a very good deal to Martinique with a flight from/to Latin America (I think Caracas). They were serving the meat on a trolley. Full filets of steak, one rare one medium rare, to choose from; and they would cut a slice of your choice. Same for rack of lamb.
And the wines were far superior to what they are serving now. But not the seating, which was only reclining to 160.
