I guess that's one way to give a Cat4 free night more value... jack up the points needed for a Cat 4. As for my usual year end bookings of Cat 1 hotels to make sure I hit Globalist, I think I will wait until the later announcement, as there is some chance of beating 3500 points per night..... maybe..

It will be interesting to see the transition as far as the award availability calendars for individual hotels. I suppose we won't be able to see when a hotel offers a "lowest" category room until after the actual launch.
