Was also stuck in Bangkok some 20yr ago, on a Finnair flight, technical issues. They served food and alcohol during some hours, then bussed us to a 5-star hotel for rest, more food and sleep, approximately 6h. Then back to the flight. Very well handled imo.

In MUC I didn't see any effort from the airport or LHG to take care of the passengers.
