Hunh? That's the point of my post. pmUA did not have the planes to fly HKG to the East Coast so HKG-ORD was important in pmUA's network. After the merger the new UA had HKG-EWR for East Coast connections precisely because pmCO had 772s flying that route. The merger lessened the importance of ORD-HKG in the network of the merged airline.
