You paid for that FFD certificate. I probably would have (politely) stood my ground and asked for the agent's supervisor. Failing that, a note to Aadavantage Customer Service is in order. Some lounge agents (all lounges) get on a power trip (or are poorly trained) and have earned the name "Lounge Dragons" for good reason. I've seen too much of this over the years to have any tolerance for their rudeness or misinformation. Most are in the wrong job.
Agree. The T&Cs are clear that any qualifying same day flight (departing or arriving) is enough for entry into FFD and, in turn, the FL.
