In terms of status benefits I actually find oneworld subpar to Star Alliance because Sapphire does not grant fast track access (only some airlines give discretionary fast track e.g. at their hubs) while Gold/SEN does.
In addition with the described issues crediting and using other status
intresting, I dont recall not having fast track where available as OWS while it haas been awhile since I was OWS. Star is ok, I have been OWE, Star Gold and ST E+ for the last 5 years and even more for OWE and *G but this year im finally giving up on *G... lounges are a bigger win for me in OW then on ST or *A but these are allways very user oriented views no right answer
