Had my lad with me at CDG flying AF as an Ultimate the other day. Large passport queues so we were escorted straight to the front of all that (separately to the Sky Priority lane, which offers a shorter queue in itself) by check in staff. Then a remote stand so a car was waiting for us at the bus gate - and they weren't quite ready when we arrived at the plane so the bus caught us up - but was held whilst we were boarded first. Even my lad, who has been through LHR with me as a GGL dozens of times in the past ten years, said "this is a bit special, isn't it?".
"Apparently not, mate. Turns out I've just been settling for less."
