I’ve noticed the similar earnings changes since November. It doesn’t necessarily mean there’s ‘beef’ between Alaska and Cathay Pacific since partnership dynamics can shift quietly due to inventory strategy, pricing, or broader alliance alignment as Alaska continues to grow into a "Global" airline.
With Cathay Pacific launching Seattle service soon, it’ll be interesting to see whether award access and reciprocity improve, especially since Seattle becomes a strategic overlap market. Sometimes these adjustments happen ahead of route launches or renegotiations.
From a loyalty perspective, I’m watching how earn rates, award space, and elite recognition evolve as that’ll tell us more than the lack of advance notice with internal changes that aren't announced to members of the ATMOS programme.
