As ETA have a 2-year validity and started being required in Jan 2025, ones that have been issued so far should all still be valid (unless for some reason revoked) at least until Jan 2027. It looks as though the ETA application can no longer be completed truthfully for a dual British citizen applying with their foreign passport, due to changes in the past few days.
Yes I think people who already have an ETA should be fine for now as that will be good for boarding and once here they can get in. But that still leaves an awful lot of people who either have never had a UK passport or no longer have their old one, and who seemingly cannot now get an ETA without lying.

When I first heard about this issue it sounded overblown to me, but evidently it's a real mess and is screwing many people over, including families with very expensive trips. Poor show.
