I thought the CP account had very low interest rates Keeping 25k cash there instead of Schwab costs me the interest at 4% with Schwab SUTXX - which is free of state taxes = 1000$
Why spend 1000$ to get 895 "free"
I had to look that up. According to
https://www.schwab.com/money-market-funds SUTXX is currently yielding 3.54% and has a $1M minimum. The more accessible SNSXX is yielding 3.39%. And the $895 also includes a free AU which is a $195 value if you want or need that. Of course the $895 also may be taxable both state and federal, so there's that. So everyone will have their own math and if the MS CPP checking account has no value to you then the whole program really isn't a big deal either way--if interest rates are low and your tax brackets are low then it works out, otherwise maybe not.
