It has been mentioned many times in this thread. If you hold the appropriate United Credit card, you get the "extra" miles. You do not need to charge the trip on it.
So as a 1k holding a Quest card, I will earn 12x miles instead of 11, even when purchasing the trip on my Corporate Amex.

Of course, you will NOT earn the credit card "bonus" miles for putting the charge on the UA card, but that is the same as it has always been.
