The spend categories are not compelling.
So this works out to $150 net expense with no motivation to put any spending on the card. It's not really getting me into UA credit card ecosystem. Maybe the base of GS customers is too small for United to care. I'd appreciate either a compelling product offer or else not to feel like I'll be disadvantaged.
For me, the Quest gives me the $200 credit, I do use the GE fee as I cover a lot of people across all my cards for that, which is $30 a year in effect, The $100 a year rideshare credit gets used without fail as well, as does the 10K award flight discount (worth at least $10) so $340+ is cleanly spoken for. IF I put spend on it then the extra 10K award discounts and E+ are useful for non status family. If not, then < $10 a year is likely justified as the "fee" for the extra miles I'll earn.
If I didn't already have it, I'd have considered the Explorer card (free for year one and a 70K miles sign up) and then product change to the Quest.
