I am doing the envelope math, and 10% discount on award flights for having a higher card, plus 5% for being Gold... 15,000 miles savings for a 100,000 business class ticket. So one a year seems to pay for the card. A round trip or flight for wife and me means I'm "ahead" (?), yay. Of course, as others noted above, I expect award flights to increase in price at least 10%, but I'm stuck with that whether i have a new card or not. This sucks. I don't really want another credit card. My Gateway card is actually the downgrade of my old UA card which is probably the oldest card on my credit report, but that's irrelevant I know.

Sorry if it has been answered, but does the 15% discount only apply to UA metal redemptions? My best finds and redemptions (and business class experience/peference) have tended to be other *A.
