Not sure what yiur definition of recently might be. But back in October it worked well enough for me to stream the womens rugby world cup final and the Saturday of the Ryder Cup all the way from LGW to CUN almost flawlessly

The biggest issues with the current system from my usage are to do with route - if the signal to the plane drops due to being out of range there is nothing that can be done, even if you're connected to the plane AP
