https://gifts.marriott.com/login/ and asks for an email address & password. I don't have an account at Marriott Gift Cards so I click the link to create one. It asks for email, "Card Number" (not "Gift #" as 1st called in the email) and PIN. I've tried four times and get the same error... "Invalid. Please check the card number and re-enter".
This is just a guess on my part, but I'm wondering if it's because Marriott is switching from the Givex website to loading the gift cards on the Marriott app on Feb 25 (per the email that went out on Jan 22). I just tried logging into the Givex website and had no problems, but perhaps they aren't allowing new accounts to be created.
But if I recall correctly, the email already has the gift card number and PIN. So you can go ahead and use it. Registering it was strictly for security purposes. Not a big issue for a $25 gift card.
BTW, when I created my account, I only needed my email address and a password, no card number, so not sure what that's all about.
