TK90 IST-ICN Q1 2026 02:20 departure B777

Just realized I hadn't posted these from my most recent flight.

Service was very good on this late night / early morning AM departure. None of the crew seemed tired or annoyed. I was asked multiple times throughout meal service if I needed additional anything and happily brought me multiple drinks. The was no raki on this flight and when the Russian gentleman seated next to me overheard, he jokingly berated the crew member lightheartedly which he took in stride very well and cracked some kind of joke back.

There was also a mother with two small toddlers in my row, and among other good service provided to them, I overheard the cabin crew very patiently discuss various customizable meal options for the children (I think I wrote a bit more about this in the 'improved business class' thread). I didn't see what exactly they were served as I wasn't trying to be nosy but the mother seemed very appreciative of the extra care and the children were well-behaved.

Interestingly, the online menu was incorrect but it was the exact same menu as my IST-ICN flight from Q2 2025 which had the correct online menu. The PDF of that can be found a bit upthread.

Mezze was very good. Tasted fresher than the same items I had sampled in the lounge, in particular the tabbouli was probably the freshest Ive had anywhere. The beef prosciutto thing was a bit tough for a cured meat to me. Also does anyone know what the name of the dish in the center is? I havent been able to identify what it is made of.
Stuck with just the mezze as I was a bit bloated with Bomonti's and some surprisingly good food from the IGA lounge. It was very good. Decided to order the lobster sauce linguine as I had the cauliflower steak last time, and I had plenty of chicken in the lounge pre-flight. The passenger next to me got the chicken however and it looked amazing. Linguine was very well-presented and tasted okay. Both the noodles and shrimp were on the well-done side but I wouldnt call either overcooked. The sauce was okay. Had a fairly mild taste of lobster but you kind of really had to look for it.

Probably won't get this again though if I have the opportunity to take J in TK again.

I asked for whatever desserts the very friendly cabin crew member recommended. Glad I did as the halwa was not on my radar. He pointed to the halwa as he served it and seemed genuinely excited to say that it was his favorite. It was indeed very very good. The ice cream was a bit on the frozen side but it was fantastic to mix into the warm halwa. Trifle was fine, but overshadowed by the halwa.
I asked for whatever desserts the very friendly cabin crew member recommended minus the baklava. I think he just brought everything other than the baklava. Glad I did though as the halwa was not on my radar. He pointed to the halwa as he served it and seemed genuinely excited to say that it was his favorite. It was indeed very very good. The ice cream was a bit on the frozen side but it was fantastic to cut with the knife and eat with the warm halwa. Trifle was fine, but overshadowed by the halwa.

Good appetizer for breakfast. The cabin crew came over as soon as they could see I was awake (I was seated at the front of the rear J cabin near the galley) and asked if I wanted breakfast and served me promptly. Only minor complaint here is that the clotted cream was a bit too cold to spread easily.

I noticed they did the same for someone who woke up about a full hour later. Only minor complaint here is that the clotted cream was a bit too cold to spread easily.

Poached eggs benedict with the runny yolk we just discussed upthread. Everyone in my row and behind me were awake at this point so I opened my window halfway which seemed to confuse the sensor on my phone camera, weird lighting and artifacts as a result. I think I would enjoy this a bit more if the pide base were pre-cut a bit as I made quite a mess cutting it. As mentioned previously I find it rather tough to cut compared to english muffins. Overall very good flavors.
