I suspect for many others (including myself) I would include other factors that wouldn’t make AA any better. As Kacee pointed out, there is a reason why achieving EXP is so much easier than 1K. And that United keeps raising the bar for getting 1K.
People here repeatedly say that it’s hard to get 1K but that’s only true on paper. Anyone that’s observed United pre-boarding lines can attest that United status is common. United hands out 1K like candy through status matches and eagerly offers 1K & even Global Services in corporate contracts. My business is small but I have a handful of employees that fly enough to earn 1K. Our United for Business AE is offering us 1K status gift designations and is even mentioning Global Services designations to us. For medium and big companies I bet the deal is much sweeter. I can’t even get Delta to status match me to Diamond…
