From a US based traveler perspective, similar to how Alaska is a relatively regional player (though trying to grow) airline in the US, AF/KLM is also not going to be as interesting given their flying partner in the US is Delta and SkyTeam benefits compared to OneWorld and Star Alliance is weak sauce.
