Odd question... I've got a TA booking made through my corp travel agent (amex gbt), but they seem totally confused about the idea of applying a GUF.
I'm okay phoning BA to do this, but in the past I understand that as soon as BA touch the ticket, Amex lose control of it and can't make further changes etc. Previously I had an issue with a BT/IT fare where BA refused to make changes because they didn't have any of the fare rules etc. So basically the flexibility of the ticket was removed by having BA service the guf.
Has anyone got any experience booking with a TA, upgrading with BA directly and then making further changes to the booking?
I'm likely going to move out the last leg (not affected by the guf, it's already in club Europe). I just don't want to risk turning a flex ticket into an inflexible one because BA and amex systems are rubbish.
Any thoughts?
