I recently learned that EASA has a common pilot type rating for A330 & A350 but FAA has it as 2 different. Anybody know what TC's stance is?

And yes, I know that there is a lot of commonality and getting rated on an A350 from an A330 is not a long process but if separate it would require time in both and additional simulator time to remain current in both.
