I see. That is unfortunate. They give a free hotel and transit visa for layovers over 8 hours along with meals. We had an 8 layover coming back but didn’t use the room as we took a day tour around Addis Ababa instead. The room is at the starlight either in terminal or outside the airport. It is a random assignment. From pics and reviews it is a beautiful hotel.
