Anyone with "another $5k or 10k" to throw at a credit card annual fee isn't the type of person who's in it for the "benefits." Remember the famous Warren Buffet quote that he didn't get rich by not watching his pennies. Anyone willing to pay a $10-15k annual fee is going to expect some very sophisticated benefits (if benefits matter to them at all) and, no, airline status or nicer seats in a Centurion Lounge ain't gonna cut it.
