I think any "fix", if it does happen, would come from the UA side, if UA decides it's missing the revenue that comes from UA TB too much. Unless of course UA is actively looking at getting Amex to replace Chase as its co-branded card partner, but I don't see that happening. The Chase/UA contract is way too lucrative for UA, and Visa is accepted in more places than Amex.
