Curious if this will have a major impact on your overall value of the Platinum. I know you said you've been on the fence about canceling it before. Last time I flew United was about 9 years ago from EWR, just before the Dr. David Dao incident in 2017, but that's mostly because I live near a Delta hub, so I haven't scanned this thread to what other ways the airline credit can be utilized.

I know a LONG time ago people used to be able to buy Amazon gift cards through the United shopping portal and be reimbursed, but Amex killed that quick.

The only personal experience I've had that felt similar was when Amex removed SiriusXM from the entertainment credit. It felt like a $100 yearly price increase.

I am hoping Amex doesn't go after some of the Delta loopholes next, where you can add gift cards/flight credits to tickets, and pay the balance to the Platinum, and be reimbursed, as long as the Platum charge is $250 or under.

However, maybe they decided to nuke Travelbank, because it required very low effort for the average user.
