Not true any more:

1MM is complimentary annual DL Gold (SkyTeam Elite+)
2MM is complimentary annual DL Platinum
3MM is complimentary annual Diamond
5MM is an annual invite to 360

(no companion benefit, but DL awards BIS miles for partner metal credited to DL, including award tickets on partner metal; when it was 2MM for DL Gold, they also had class of service bonuses for the lifetime mile counter and it was possible to get around 150k lifetime miles each year from credit card spending)
