agree here. It took some work but I probably got about $4K myself. A day or two after there are probably a few more trips I could have booked for another $1K or so but I missed. Maybe they’ll bring it back for a weeklong encore :-)
Most of the properties I booked had free cancellation up until about a week before the trip so it’s a pretty lowest proposition assuming you stay on top of your dates. Interestingly, most were a little pricier than hotel websites, but funny enough there were a couple that were a little less costly than direct. I found that interesting….

I always book refundable rates, unless im booking for something less than 2 weeks out. My plans change frequently and I need the flexibility. It also allows me to handle price drops, quite a few times the rates went way down closer to the travel date. Of course that trick won't work to keep the MQDs, but if the drop is very large I'll take the real money over the MQDs.
