I had to chuckle when I read this. How are they "keeping the most valuable benefits tied to meaningful engagement" under the current system?! Allowing/encouraging the large scale sale/trade of GOH/suite certs has to be one of the worst design flaws any program ever came up with. In fact, I can't imagine they'd go through a major program overhaul without addressing this boondoggle.

That said, if these rumors are true, it's another kick in the teeth for non-US members, who don't have access to credit cards. And I don't think this Bonvoyfication will work for Hyatt. There are precious few Hyatts that are well-located, reasonably priced, and offer worthwhile benefits right now. Flooding these with elites (and thereby watering down benefits as is happening at numerous Bonvoy properties) isn't gonna keep regulars happy.

Oh well. I'll be LT Glob in early March. It'll be interesting to see if this turns out to be as worthless as my Bonvoy LT Tit (where I'm down to a couple dozen nights a year). Maybe these rumors turn out to be a hoax, or at least LT Globs will remain ahead of the pack.
