it seems the EI flights were cancelled a few hours before. The compensation issue seems to be sorted.CORRECT The OP is left with the booking only having the inbound left - they choose to cancel the outbound and rebook themselves to the US.CORRECT As NickB notes, Mennes is for downgrades, i,e you were in J and you get an involuntary downgrade to Y. Mennes provides the formula to work out the downgrade reimbursement. I don't see any mention of a downgrade so I have no idea why it is being cited here.

BA as the seller needs to provide a refund and it is this value they need - but it sounds like it may be in a queue to be calculated and refund issued? CORRECT There isn't a process to also produce the same figure from another point in BA. If the flight was cancelled, and it was on the booking, i am unclear how BA don't know. And as it seems BA don't know and therefore it hasn't even been sent for a refund - something which will be confused by the fact it seems EI re-issued the ticket as a one way when it was originally a BA ticket. I am unsure why EI even touched the ticket to remove the outbound and re-issue as a one way - assuming they have actually re-ticketed it. I can see EI rebooking the outbound on the day had the OP been put on alternative flights, but removing the outbound completely they should have shunted it back to BA to deal with for reasons which are becoming obvious as it otherwise creates a mess. The key is to get BA to process the refund, which will then generate a refund figure that will be sent to you, and which you can use with EI.

I have to say, I think this may be one example where the OP would have been better getting some advice on here first - although i appreciate this is very much "well i wouldn't have started from here" statement and doesn't solve the problem in front of us.
Please see above in green, EI did indeed remove the MAN-MCO from our ticket. I hope it will all fall into place, however as mentioned it all depends on BA, I have nudged them a few times. Is it just a case of having to wait? With regards to coming on here first, I totally agree, however it was 5am 2 days after christmas and we had a cruise booked for the next day, so time was of the essence to secure travel and sadly BA and EI were little to no help.

Thanks
